Jefferson County Schools continues to monitor weather storms and works to make the best decisions as early as possible to allow families time to plan. We work with the WV Department of Highways, the WV Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and the National Weather Service when making these decisions. Our number one priority is to keep our students and staff safe.

With the potential for inclement weather tomorrow, please make sure you have a plan for all possibilities, including delays, early dismissals, and closures. In the event that JCS closes early due to weather, there will be no AlphaBest or transportation to the Boys and Girls Club.

JCS has one more Non-Traditional Instruction Day for the year. If we use that day, then any additional snow days would need to be made up. We understand that families make plans based on the school calendar long before the school year starts. With this in mind, we aim to minimize disruption to Spring Break week and the end of the school year by utilizing the dates below if makeup days are required.
